Principal's welcome

Mudgeeraba Creek State School has a proud tradition of providing learning program that cater for the individual learning needs of all children. Our school is a co-educational state school that caters for students from the preparatory year to year 6.

Experienced staff deliver differentiated individualised programs that provide relevant support and extension for all students. We strongly encourage open and transparent communication between home and school to further enhance our understanding of each student’s individual learning.

Our staff has an unrelenting focus on the enhanced delivery of the Australian Curriculum for every student. We use the research of Dr Robert J. Marzano to ensure teachers have a comprehensive framework for effective instruction, making every lesson count. We take pride in the provision of a high quality teaching and learning environment including outdoor play, specialised learning spaces and air conditioned classrooms.

Our school has design and digital technology and Science Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) labs with specialist teachers for delivering award winning programmes in STEM. We have an excellent music program including strings, band and choir. The school offers Japanese as our Language Program for students in year 4 to 6. To align with the Australian Curriculum global schools through languages priority, the prep year will engage with the Japanese program in 2018. By 2021 Japanese will be taught from prep to year 6.

Student leadership is fostered through individual student learning goals, a variety of leadership opportunities both in and beyond the school and a strong student council lead by our school captains. School council members from years 3 to 6 participate in an entrepreneurial skills programme. Our school has strong links with Griffith University and Southern Cross University, with both recognising Mudgeeraba Creek State School for excellence in developing pre service teachers and Griffith partnering with initiatives in STEM.

Our school values of friendship, achievement and respect provide fundamental expectations for all members of our school community. These values are the basis of the Positive Behaviour for Learning program in the school. Students are encouraged to apply these values to all aspects of their lives and the school is committed to nurturing these values. The '7 Habits of Highly Effective People' (Stephen Covey) are developed through the Leader in Me focus across the school.

Mudgeeraba Creek State School has a supportive parent community and active P&C Committee. Staff are supported by the parent body and together the staff and parents work tirelessly to ensure Mudgeeraba Creek State School is a school of choice for the Mudgeeraba area.
